Silver Power is a new price-performance orientated PSU brand and the company behind it is Tagan. I wouldn't go as far as to say "no frills" and even though it doesn't come with some of the features that the Tagan offers, its box still comes with a carry handle and thick foam compartmentalising all the bits inside.
Six 12V rails are included and, as well as CrossFire certification, it has the necessary 8-pin and 6-pin PCI-Express connectors for the latest PCI-Express 2.0 standard.
The PSU is firmly housed in its box, wedged in on all sides by half inch foam, as are the cables and accessories too. This is clearly the best box we've seen so far: not only is it easy to get everything back in again, it's sure to survive even the most bumpy journeys.
On the outside there are a few details of the contents, with a power rail ratings list on either end and a bit of information on the back. No further details about what cables are included and their lengths, or what it's intended to power are advertised on the box.
Accessories
- Black power cable;
- Manual;
- Case screws;
No matter how you measure it, there is not very much in the box at all. With that said, the manual is quite informative in telling you the specifications, testing conditions and what rails go to which connectors. There are no extra cable ties or Velcro straps for tidying your case, and the power cable is a very normal black plastic with no EMI shield. All in all, it's better than nothing but it's about as basic as you can get.
